Concha: Natasha Bertrand Is A Stenographer For Deep State Actors, The “Baghdad Barbara” Of CNN
FOX News contributor Joe Concha reacts to White House press secretary Karoline Leavitt calling out CNN national security reporter Natasha Bertrand over reporting misinformation.
SEAN HANNITY, FOX NEWS: And today, the secretary of defense and the chairman of the joint chiefs, General Razin Caine, had this to say about the successful strike. And by the way, the brave men and women who carried this mission out, God bless them. Thank you. Take a look. GEN. DAN CAINE, JOINT CHIEFS CHAIR: The joint force does not do BDA. By design, we don’t grade our own homework. The intelligence community does. But here’s what we know following the attacks and the strikes on Fordow: first, that the weapons were built, tested and loaded properly. Two, the weapons were released on speed and on parameters. Three, the weapons all guided to their intended targets and to their intended aim points. Four, the weapons functioned as designed, meaning they exploded. Operation midnight hammer was the culmination of those years of incredible work. The air crews, the tanker crews, the weapons crews that built the weapons, the load crews that loaded it. PETE HEGSETH, DEFENSE SECRETARY: Because you and I mean specifically you the press, specifically you the press corps, because you cheer against Trump so hard, it’s like in your DNA and in your blood to cheer against Trump because you want him not to be successful so bad, you have to cheer against the efficacy of these strikes. HANNITY: Here with reaction, FOX News contributor Joe Concha’s with us. You know, it’s unconscionable to me because in their attempt to smear Trump and it was an overwhelming success they are smearing the military. The intricacy, the detail, the sophistication, precision, the success of this operation, the danger associated with all of it, flying what, nearly 40 hours in the air, refueling in the air, you know, sneaking under the air defense systems of the Iranians, being able to deflect and misdirect — all of it together came together perfectly, thank God, because they got home safely. Targets hit, massive damage, obliteration, according to people that matter to me, not fake news CNN or, you know, a lowly classified leak from somebody that had an agenda that was only part of what was said. JOE CONCHA, FOX NEWS CONTRIBUTOR: Just amazing, Sean. Let’s put it this way, if CNN ran a funeral parlor, nobody would die, all right? Their star reporter, Natasha Bertrand, who, you know, Karoline Leavitt just laid out, she’s the Baghdad Barbara of that network. She is a stenographer for deep state actors, and always has been. She reported that the Steele dossier was the holy gospel, instead of hilarious gossip. As Karoline pointed out, said that Hunter Biden’s laptop from hell was actually Russian poetry, and therefore misinformation. In a sane world, Natasha Bertrand would be now working as a toll collector in, you know, the exact change lane. Instead, she has failed upwards and only continues to get promoted at that network like a weather person who constantly gets the forecast wrong and yet keeps getting a raise. The bottom line is that whoever leaked this low confidence preliminary assessment whether it be a low-level member of the intel community or a sitting member of Congress which more and more people are starting to believe that’s who may have leaked it, this person or persons knew exactly who to go to, to make sure that this got out into the public domain without any scrutiny given her track record. As you said, this mission was an unmitigated success. Israeli intelligence, the CIA, even the Iranians have literally admitted that their nuclear capabilities were devastated. And if they weren’t obliterated, by the way, why does anyone think that Iran would ever agree to a ceasefire if they weren’t weakened the way they were. What the Israelis did, what President Trump did and most importantly to your point what the men and women did on those bombers flying 36 hours from Missouri into a hornet’s nest and delivering perfect strikes and destroying those nuclear capabilities, it’s on par and I’m not using hyperbole here, with the berlin wall coming down, because if this brings lasting peace to the Middle East, while the nuclear threat of Iran is finally eviscerated, that’s how big this 12-day war was in terms of a result, Sean. HANNITY: You know, you know, it’s funny. Over the years, I’ve not been perfect and when I do make a mistake, I’ve corrected it, and it doesn’t happen very often. We were more — we were right on Russia collusion, we were right on FISA abuse, we were right about the double standard when it comes to top secret and classified information, and we were right about the value of Mar-a-Lago, we were right about, you know, the statute of limitations, having run out on what was a misdemeanor in New York and somehow this novel legal theory becomes 34 federal charges of Alvin Bragg, right about those people that weaponized the DOJ, right about Richard Jewell, right about UVA, right about Duke Lacrosse, right about Ferguson, Missouri, right about Freddy Gray in Baltimore, and also we knew there would be an eyewitness that would identify George Zimmerman’s head being grounded and pounded into the cement. Now, all of that being said, they get it wrong all the time. You went through a laundry list as did Karoline Leavitt of everything this woman got wrong. Why does she still have a job as a journalist? She can be a member of the press like I am and a talk show host, but she calls herself a journalist and CNN allows her to continue in spite of being wrong all of those times. CONCHA: Because, Sean, CNN, MSNBC, “New York Times,” “Washington Post,” CBS, ABC, NBC, they’re more interested in activists than they are in journalists. They’re more interested in feeding their audiences which are profoundly liberal the red meat that they crave than to actually get things right. And when they get it wrong, they just hope that the news cycle carries it away and we’re just all going to forget about it like we did when Joe Biden’s brain turned to mashed potatoes and everybody insisted that he was perfectly fine. And now all those people that insisted that for example one of the biggest scandals of our lifetimes as far as presidents are concerned, they all still have their jobs and no one got a pay cut or anything else like that. So as long as there’s no accountability, these people will keep their jobs and they’re pushing a narrative and that’s where we are at this point and it is — well, for lack of a better term — HANNTY: And it’s what they don’t report. They never reported on the radicalism and the radical associates of Barack Obama, Reverend Wright, Bernardine Dohrn, Bill Ayers, that they don’t report on po important issues. Joe’s cognitive state — maybe they did notice. I know they noticed. You know they noticed America knows they noticed. They didn’t say a word when you had Mayorkas, and Harris and Joe Biden, oh, no, the borders closed. Meanwhile, terrorists from — many from Iran, that Joe allowed to stay in the country and around the world are in our country, as are gang members and cartel members and murderers and rapists and other violent criminals. How many times do you get to lie or lie by omission and not report on the truth just because you have an agenda and then still claim you’re — you’re fair balanced and objective when you’re not. I’m a talk show host. I’m open about my political — CONCHA: The bias of omission, Sean, and I think the bottom line is that social media is now the great equalizer, that when these folks do lie or when they intentionally don’t report something — well, fortunately, you have X, for example, and citizen journalists on there or independent journalists or people who are not working for corporate media organizations, legacy media, that will call these people out. And those call-outs get far more attention than any audience that CNN draws, for example, which right now literally your competition’s drawing not even 500,000 viewers. So, here’s where the disconnect is — HANNITY: Right — CONCHA: — they say all these things like, okay, Donald Trump’s doing a horrible job when it comes to the handling of Israel and Iran. His approval right now, Insider Advantage, A-plus poll, number one poll in the 2024 election, 60 percent approve of Donald Trump’s rating — handling of the Israel-Iran conflict, only 36 percent disapprove. So despite all this negative attention, Donald Trump is 24 points higher than — HANNITY: Free Beacon had 90 percent — CONCHA: — when it comes to handling this. HANNITY: — and the free beacon had 90 percent of Republicans. You know what? The numbers speak for themselves. Joe Concha, thank you.
