FOX News Panel: Biden Claiming He Issued Last-Minute Pardons “Orally” Is A Step Toward “I Don’t Recall”

The FOX News “Big Weekend Show” panel discussed new reporting from the New York Times that President Biden “orally” confirmed pardons signed with an “autopen” in his final days in office. In an interview with The New York Times, Biden called President Trump and other Republicans “liars” for claiming aides had used the autopen to sign pardons without his authorization. “Pay attention to time, math. How many commutations and pardons in one day? And what hours would it take for him to do this individually? It strains credulity,” David Webb said. “Do the math on what it would take for him to do that individually, when you can’t cognitively get through a few hours a day of work.” “These individuals-Ron Klain and others-are expecting to be deposed on Capitol Hill. He’s not doing them any favors,” Griff Jenkins said. “We watched the former president fight with the short stairs on airplanes, stages across the country, fighting with teleprompters-it was all very evident in front of us. And now he’s choosing to fight with the auto pen because he does not like it.” “Notice something he said-his exact words matter. It’s very lawyer-like and Clinton-like. I orally did this-this is why,” Webb said. “Watch very carefully-I’ve seen this play from the Clintons and others. They come out and make a very clear, lawyered, but ambiguous statement that you really can’t challenge or prove Orally is the key word.” Alicia Acuna added: “I think it is heading into I don’t recall. This is a setup for the aides once they get in there before the committee and start answering questions. When they say, what about this act of clemency, do you recall him orally telling you? It’s very easy for them to relieve themselves of any commitment to the truth and say I don’t recall.”
