Steve Moore: Trump Is Finishing The Reagan Agenda, It’s An Economic Miracle

Economist Steve Moore talks to FOX News host Sean Hannity about the “Trump Economic Miracle.”

SEAN HANNITY: All right, Steve Moore, the one thing you were skeptical of and you wrote the book “Trumpnomics” in fairness to you and it was a bestseller. You were a little concerned as it relates to the tariffs, but just the threat of tariffs resulted in the commitment of $ 11 trillion now in manufacturing, by the way, in key industries, in rare earth, for example. We put that deal together. We’re now going to manufacture that here at home. We will mine in this country. Also, it includes the semiconductors, automobiles and pharmaceuticals, all important, couple that with energy dominance, I don’t think you can calculate the impact on the economy if we really do become an energy-rich country. Then the largest tax cut in history. That’s supply side 101 on steroids and human growth hormone. STEVE MOORE, ECONOMIST: There you go. So, you know, let’s not forget, Sean, I wrote the book with Arthur Laffer that came out nine months ago called “The Trump Economic Miracle”. And if anything, we understated the miracle that has happened. You’re quite right. In six months, this is spectacular. You know, I — you know, when I die, I hope that they put on my tombstone that I worked for two of the greatest presidents of the last 50 years, Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump. And one of the things that Trump is doing is he’s kind of finishing the Reagan agenda. I think Reagan was one of our greatest presidents. But there are a lot of things Reagan tried to do, Sean. I mean, you were there that he couldn’t get done. And let me just give you an example. Just in the last week or so, we’ve gotten rid of the World Bank. We’ve gotten rid of the corrupt foreign aid institutions. We have gotten rid of, you know, the subsidies for Corporation for Public Broadcasting, something 40 years ago we tried to do. And by the way, you know, Elmo was the richest guy in the world. Why do we have to be subsidizing public radio and public TV? And the point is that these are the — these are the things that other presidents, Bush tried to do. Both Bush has tried to do it. Reagan tried to do to some extent. Clinton tried to do it. Trump — I don’t know how he does it. If you had told me six months ago that we would get this this Big, Beautiful tax bill passed by July 4th, I would have said no way. It’s not possible. I know the way Congress works. They’re going to wait till the last minute and do it. And it was Trump just by the force of his personality was able to get this thing done. One last point, you’re right. All of the statistics that you cited are very positive. The one thing that I find just walking down the street going to the grocery store and just seeing people at the gas pump in a restaurant. When Biden was president, people would come up and yell at me and they go, yeah, inflation’s out of control. You’re one of those damn economy, blah, blah, blah. I said, I didn’t do it. Biden did it. Now, have you noticed this? People are in a good mood and even half of the poll show even half of Democrat voters who don’t even like Trump are pretty happy with the things he’s doing.
