Rep. Sam Liccardo (D-CA) on CNN said Democrats will keep the government shutdown “as long as it takes” to ensure the cost of living is reduced. “As long as it takes to ensure that when the government reopens, it’s a government that actually serves Americans and reduces the cost of living, rather than what we know is going to happen if this proposal passes, which is, we’re going to see 22 million Americans pay twice as much for their health insurance,” Liccardo told CNN host Erica Hill.
