Maher Slams Golden Globes For Joe Rogan Snub: “Get Out Of Your F**king Bubble,” “You’re Just So Hard To Defend”
On his podcast “Club Random,” HBO host Bill Maher, interviewing guests Dana Carvey and David Spade, called out the Golden Globes for snubbing Joe Rogan for its “Best Podcast” category.
BILL MAHER: Did you see that there’s a podcast category at the Globes? Oh really? DANA CARVEY: You know what? DAVID SPADE: You know, someone said — CARVEY: They’re kidding? MAHER: I would think you — SPADE: Did we get nominated? CARVEY: We’re defending champions. MAHER: Wouldn’t you have known it by now? CARVEY: We won the comedy podcast. MAHER: They only nominated like the super woke stuff. [GROANING] MAHER: I love it that we all did the same. CARVEY: We all f*cking collapsed. SPADE: Deflate. MAHER: We were like the lady at the porch in Saving Private Ryan. CARVEY: ‘Bartender, can I get another drink? F*cking woke people.’ I’m sorry. MAHER: I’m sure there were good shows. But it was glaring that Joe Rogan was not nominated. CARVEY: For Best Function? MAHER: Yeah. I mean. It is kind of popular. CARVEY: It is known. MAHER: It is known. CARVEY: He’s absolutely brilliant at what he does. MAHER: And he’s very good at what. Exactly. So you’re going to have an inaugural podcast category. CARVEY: And you don’t have [Joe Rogan]. MAHER: It just speaks to living in the blue sky bubble. But get out of your f*cking bubble, you know. I want to be one of you. I am one of you. But you’re just so hard to defend. Because you’re such f*cking smug a**holes. And this town is the epicenter of the problem.
