Yemisi Egbewole: Rubio Held His Own At Hearing, Democrats Did A Good Job Of Not Overplaying Their Hand
On ‘Special Report,’ Former Biden Press Office Advisor Yemisi Egbewole explained how Democrat Senators questioned Secretary of State Marco Rubio on the Trump Administrations actions in Venezuela:
YEMISI EGBEWOLE: Democrats knew that this was going to be a highly visible hearing. And this was really going to be their one chance to ask one-on-one questions to the Secretary. Duckworth, of course, was always going to be the tough questioner as someone who served herself. Senator Rosen did a great job from this hearing as well. Dems got a win when it came to the war powers resolution and held Rubio’s feet to the fire. That’s not to say at that the secretary didn’t hold his owns a well. There were questions that remained unanswered and Dems did a really great job of staying out of virality and not overplaying their hands and just sticking to the facts on this.
