Ari Fleischer: There Is No Logic For Democratic Position on Voter ID Other Than They Want Anybody To Vote
FOX News contributor Ari Fleischer on ‘Special Report’ speculated why Democrats wouldn’t support voter id laws like SAVE act:
ARI FLEISCHER: Democrats oppose it because they say it is suppression of votes, Jim Crow 2.0, because poor people can’t afford to go out and get an I.D. They don’t have I.D.s. In order to qualify for Medicaid, in order to qualify for food stamps, you have to have an I.D. You have to prove you are a citizen. And so I don’t get the Democrat point. If you are too poor to get an I.D., then why would you qualify for food stamps? And they’re for the poor. So there is no logic to the Democrat position other than they are working so hard to let anybody vote without knowing if they are a citizen or not. And if you have vote successfully, it is the perfect crime. No one will catch you. You voted, you got away with it, and then nobody goes back and looks at the roles and cross indexes to see who is a citizen. So I don’t understand the Democratic opposition.
