Mollie Hemingway: Republican Voters Will Lose Enthusiasm The Longer Iran War Goes On
Mollie Hemingway of “The Federalist” warns the Trump administration that Republican voters didn’t vote for a war with Iran on this week’s “FOX News Sunday” panel:
MOLLIE HEMINGWAY: It will be interesting to see how things play out politically here. Right now, polling seems to show almost a proxy poll on what people think of Trump. Republicans are pretty supportive of President Trump. They do trust him to fight this war differently than his predecessors, including President George W. Bush. It’s also true that fighting Iran was not one of their top policy priorities when they elected him. They wanted a transformational period and believed that America was at a precipice and needed a lot of stuff done here to save the country here. The longer this war goes on, you might see changes there, even in terms of just the enthusiasm Republican voters have heading into the midterms.
