Trump: NATO Was Useless When We Needed Them, But Actually We Didn’t Need Them
President Donald Trump spoke Friday at a Turning Point Action event in Phoenix, where he touted U.S. success in the War in Iran as a ceasefire remained in place. Trump also criticized NATO for not offering support earlier in the crisis, claiming the alliance is now seeking to assist after the situation had largely stabilized. “You know, it’s a little bit like if you’re a politician, it’s hard to believe I’m a politician,” Trump said. “But after I won, people came up to me, sir, I’d like to make a major contribution to campaign. And I said, listen, just so you understand, campaign contributions after I won don’t count. Okay. They don’t. And NATO, after we won, that doesn’t count either.” “It’s the same,” Trump added.

But actually, we never needed them. They needed us. They need us. They need us so badly. You know, it’s a little bit like if you’re a politician, it’s hard to believe I’m a politician. This isn’t the big, this isn’t the big time. You know, we built a military so great. I’m so proud of it’s one of the including Space Force. You know, you see all of that.
