President Trump had a good line prepared when a reporter asked him on Thursday if the third major assassination attempt in two years has made him consider wearing a bulletproof vest. NewsNation White House correspondent Libbey Dean asked the president: “Is there talk about you potentially wearing a bulletproof vest, moving forward given you have now been shot at three times?” “I don’t know if I could handle looking 20 pounds heavier,” Trump joked. “Some of these guys are physical specimens,” he added, referring to the Secret Service agents he’s usually surrounded by. “Frankly, the vest did an amazing job–it took a bullet close up,” he said about the one worn by the Secret Service agent shot at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. “He didn’t even want to go to the hospital.”
