Jeh Johnson: Iran War Has Erased “Whatever Moral Authority We Had As Leader Of The Free World”
Former Obama DHS Secretary Jeh Johnson said on this week’s “Meet the Press” panel that the U.S. has lost “moral authority we had as leader of the free world” as a result of President Trump’s attack on Iran.
JEH JOHNSON: I regret to say that I think that whatever moral authority we had as leader of the free world may be lost. And no deal I think can restore that. Let’s not forget that on the first day of this war, one of our missiles hit a school, killed over 100 children. Our president threatened genocide on Easter Sunday, provoking the Pope. I fear we’ve turned 93 million Iranians against us. The so-called great Satan, gas prices globally have gone up, not just here in the United States. And we’re leading, I regret to say, by the example of our power. Not the power of our example anymore.
