Maine House Speaker: Platner Is Not The Only Candidate Who Can String Together Sentences About Political Change
Maine House Speaker Ryan Fecteau (D) joins Meet the Press NOW to discuss the Democratic Party’s role in naming a new nominee after Graham Platner’s withdrawal from the Maine Senate race. NBC News’ Ryan Nobles and Sahil Kapur discuss their reporting on what led up to Platner’s withdrawal and where Democrats in the Pine Tree State could go from here.
RYAN FECTEAU: I don’t know what the delay is. I think he should do what he said was going to do in that video which is to withdraw and allow us to move forward with a process that will allow us to elect a tremendous candidate. We have a lot of really great people in Maine politics, people who believe the same things Graham believes. Graham Platner is not the only person that believes in what Graham Platner believes. Graham Platner is not the only person who can string together sentences about this incredible message of changing our politics and putting working class people back in the driver’s seat. That’s what we need to be focused on.
