Fetterman: Fauci Hearing Was Excessive, Is It Really Necessary To Force The Dude To Invoke The Fifth 111 Times?

Sen. John Fetterman (D-PA) was present Wednesday as Republican colleagues grilled former White House medical adviser Tony Fauci about COVID-19. I do think it’s entirely appropriate to really hold Fauci accountable, but I don’t think it’s really appropriate to pound an 85-year-old man … just to try to humiliate the guy, Fetterman tells CUOMO.

SEN. JOHN FETTERMAN (D-PA): I do think it’s entirely appropriate to really hold Fauci accountable, but I don’t think it’s really appropriate to pound an 85-year-old man 10 minutes, 10 minutes, 10 minutes just to try to humiliate the guy. You know, I didn’t really appreciate-he does seem like he was a little fixated on his own fame. That wasn’t, like, his best look, but overall, at some point, hey, it was excessive, you know? And it’s like, is it really necessary to force the dude to say, you know, fifth, fifth, fifth, you know, 111 times? Those aren’t great optics. But hold him accountable, absolutely, and point out some of these things.
