Gov. Andy Beshear: I’ve Heard Nothing From Sen. McConnell
Democratic Kentucky Gov. Andy Beshear called on his state’s Republican Senator Mitch McConnell to offer some proof of life during an appearance this morning on CBS’s “Face the Nation.” CBS’s Anthony Salvanto asked: “You’ve been trying to get updates on the status of Sen. Mitch McConnell. Have you heard anything from Mitch McConnell’s office on how he is doing?” “I’ve heard absolutely nothing,” Beshear said. “I do hope that he is getting better – I have known him my entire life, I wish him no harm, I wish him good health.” “But his bosses are the people of Kentucky… This is why the Republican controlled Senate is so broken. They feel like they aren’t accountable to anyone.” “All he needs to do is call in to this show for tw minuted, or Fox News, or do a video for two minutes for the people he is supposed to serve, and he absolutely refuses to do it.” Beshear added that Senate GOP Leader Thune has a responsibility to “ensure all of the senators are fit to serve.”
