Bevan: Trump Condemned The Location Of Israel’s Attack on Qatar, But Didn’t Condemn The Attack Itself
RealClearPolitics co-founder Tom Bevan on Tuesday’s “Special Report” panel weighs in on how Israel’s Doha strike on Hamas leaders could shape peace talks.
BRET BAIER, HOST: The other side of the story, Tom, is that, you know, Pakistan is a sovereign nation. We sent U.S. Special Forces in there to take out al-Qaeda, and, you know, we did what we had to do. They’re saying the same thing, however they were in the middle of a negotiation, obviously, with Gaza. TOM BEVAN, REALCLEARPOLITICS: Right, and you can see the conflict in Trump’s own statement, because you know Donald Trump would do whatever he needed to do if someone slaughtered 1,200 of our citizens. And so he said, even though he’s very apologetic to Qatar and said, look, this is never going to happen again on your soil, and he condemned the location of the attack, he didn’t condemn the attack itself. He said it was a noble goal to get rid of these terrorists. And so you can see the conflict and what a tricky situation it is for the United States.
