‘Border Czar’ Tom Homan: Gavin Newsom And Karen Bass Could Be Arrested If They Get In ICE’s Way

Trump’s appointed ‘Border Czar’ Tom Homan told NBC’s Jacob Soboroff that California Gov. Gavin Newsom and Los Angeles Mayor Karen Bass could face arrest and prosecution if they “cross the line” by opposing the president’s decision to deploy National Guard troops to LA. President Trump is deploying the National Guard because they’re going to support our law enforcement efforts here that will help protect public safety,” Homan told NBC News in an interview that will air Sunday night. “Help us take these criminals off the street. Stop applauding the protesters and support law enforcement.” “Gov. Newsom should be on the phone thanking President Trump for making a state safer.” “I’ll say about anybody,” he said. “If you cross that line, it’s a felony to knowingly harbor and conceal an illegal alien. It’s a felony to impede law enforcement from doing their job. if they cross that line, we’ll ask DOJ to prosecute.” “Go to these protests and see what’s happening. We’ve got protesters making threats against officers, assaulting officers, just in the last hour, we have protesters with Molotov cocktails. The protesters are purposely trying to overwhelm law enforcement,” Homan said. “President Trump is bringing in the National Guard — again, I want to be clear, not just to protect law enforcement officers, but to protect the community.” “The rhetoric against ICE officers is so high in this city, it is a matter of time before someone gets seriously hurt,” Homan said. “If this rhetoric and violence continues, someone is going to lose their life.”
