Cahaly: Dems Know Better Than To Believe Their Own “Nonsense” Media Polls, They’re Spending Big In NJ and VA
Trafalgar Group chief pollster Robert Cahaly told FNC’s “Hannity” on Friday that gubernatorial races in both New Jersey and Virginia are very close, within the margin of error, and will hinge on turnout. RCP’s Average of polls has Democrat Mikie Sherril leading by 4.1 in New Jersey and Democrat Abigail Spanberger leading by 7.1 in Virginia, but Cahaly says: “We feel very confident we have the Virginia governor’s race within a three-point error rating, and we have the governor’s race in New Jersey within one. We think these races are very tight.” “Democrats know better than to believe the nonsense media polls. They recognize how close these races are. They wouldn’t be rolling out Obama if they didn’t,” Cahaly said. “They’re spending because they know what’s at stake, they know what the real numbers are.”
ROBERT CAHALY: I think one of the things you’re seeing in these races is that Democrats know better than to believe the nonsense media polls. They recognize how close these races are. They wouldn’t be rolling out Obama if they didn’t. The fact is, these races are tightening and they are very close. When you look at the governor’s race in Virginia, and the lieutenant governor’s race, is being impacted by the whole scandal with the attorney general. And, of course, the nominee for governor in New Jersey has her own scandals affecting the race. These things are permeating. We had these polls right in 2021. The new numbers that both Trafalgar and Insider Advantage put out-we feel very confident we have the Virginia governor’s race within a three-point error rating, and we have the governor’s race in New Jersey within one. We think these races are very tight. And it is, just as you said, a turnout game. … CHARLE HURT, FOX NEWS: You know, Robert, in addition to looking at these polls, another thing that is pretty interesting is the amount of money that the different candidates and the parties have spent in both New Jersey and Virginia. By my count, Democrats have outspent Republicans-sometimes at least two-to-one in all of these races, and in some of those House races in Virginia, you’re talking ten-to-one. What’s really interesting: in the last couple of weeks, now Democrats are pouring-even more money into it, which is, to me, the real signal that maybe they’re getting a little bit worried. ROBERT CAHALY: There’s no question. I’m surprised they haven’t tried to figure out a way to get Tish James registered to vote in her other House-just to give them one more vote. They’re worried. Yeah, they’re very worried. And this is exactly right: the fact that there’s all this money-they’re spending because they know what’s at stake, they know what the real numbers are, and they know better than to believe their own nonsense polls the media elite are putting out.
