Carville: I Can’t Tell You How Fast The Walls Are Closing In On Trump
James Carville & Al Hunt dig into into the health concerns of Donald Trump and the implications for his leadership. It discusses the dynamics of the upcoming elections, particularly focusing on the Democratic Party’s strategies and the potential challenges they may face. The dialogue also highlights emerging political figures who could shape the future landscape of American politics:
AL HUNT, CO-HOST: James, I’ll tell you what, he is slipping. He is in terrible trouble. He tries to deny it, but he knows it. And I wrote a column this morning, that’s when he’s most dangerous. That’s when he lashes out the most. That’s when he gets the most desperate. That’s when he’ll try anything. And I think we’re seeing it already. I think that’s the only reason they’re thinking about invading Venezuela. Doesn’t have to do with curbing drugs or he wouldn’t have pardoned the worst drug trafficker of all times, maybe. And one thing I’m worried about, I’m not worried about the Democrats in the election. If the election is a reasonably fair election, the Democrats will win the House and maybe the Senate. But I think they’re gonna do everything they can to try to stop that from happening. Legal challenges, which right now, they’re ahead of the Democrats. They’re gonna try to send what I call stormtroopers in to intimidate voters. And I just want the Democrats to be prepared for that… JAMES CARVILLE, CO-HOST: Well, first of all, I read your column and I recommend it to everyone. Where can our listeners or viewers find your columns? On Substack? HUNT: On Substack, right. CARVILLE: Yeah, okay. I highly recommend it because I read it this morning. You’re absolutely right. The more the walls closing in on him, the more dangerous that he gets. And they’re closing in on him. I can’t tell you how fast they’re closing in on him. And he knows that. I don’t want anybody to get sick, but I assume that he’s aware of the fact that he probably has some pretty significant health issues. He’s certainly aware of the fact that he has really, really significant downside political standing right now. He can’t, he’s gotta realize at some point that he’s appointed a pack of buffoons that can’t do anything but he’s a big enough buffoon that he may not realize it. But I am just worried sick about the next three years. And I think your point, because he’s not gonna get better. You and I know this, age is like an elevator that doesn’t go down. The best you can hope for is you stay the same for a month or two. I keep looking for it to go down a little bit.
