CNN Interviews Sinaloa Cartel Member: “Respect” To Trump, But If There Were No American Drug Consumers, We’d Stop

CNN’s Isobel Yeung speaks to members of the Sinaloa cartel near Culiacan, as President Donald Trump pressures the Mexican government to crack down on drug cartels, officially labeling them a terrorist group and threatening more tariffs and even military strikes inside Mexico. The guy is quoted about the “terrorism” label: “Well, the situation is ugly, but we have to eat.” Asked what his message to President Trump would be, he said: “My respect. According to him, he’s looking out for his people. But the problem is the consumers. If there weren’t any [American] consumers, we would stop.” Does he have any remorse? “Of course, things are sad, but well, things are sad.”
