Doug Truax: Venezuela Operation “Great Day For The American People”
CEO of Restoration of America Foundation and former Army Captain Doug Truax reacts to the capture of Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro. The United States captured Maduro and his wife in an overnight military operation on Jan. 3, Trump said, as explosions rocked Caracas and targets across the country.
FOX NEWS HOST: So, Doug, what’s your analysis of this precision operation going into Venezuela and removing the president and his wife late, late last night? DOUG TRUAX, RESTORATION OF AMERICA FOUNDATION CEO: Yeah, it’s a great day in general, Mike. I mean, it’s a great day for the military. I’m an army guy, so I think it looks like it was Delta and 160 is SOAR, so way to go, guys on the ground making it happen, unbelievable. It’s a great day for the people of Venezuela, obviously. I know we’ll talk more about what’s going to come next, but it’s a great day for the American people. I mean, this has always, this has been a problem that’s been going on for a long time. And, you know, technically, after we indicted these two a long time ago, we could have gone in and got them, but we didn’t. And the reason we didn’t is because we had weakness and chaos during the Biden years. I mean, this has been going on forever. Biden just overwhelmed the border with the illegals. Trinidad and Tobago is coming in. Trump is absolutely right. Hundreds of thousands of people have died from fentanyl and all the drugs have been pouring in from this guy. He’s probably the top drug kingpin in the world right now. And he’s been targeting us. He’s been talking to the Chinese and the Russians. So this is a time where it’s like, you know what, it’s time to go do something about this guy. He had lots of off ramps, didn’t take them. So we went in and got him. And I think that the point that Steve was making just a second ago, that we got him so handily. I think it’s a good demonstration that there’s a lot of people behind him that are willing to help us now going forward because they see what’s happened to their country. So I think it’s a great day overall. Lots to be learned going forward. But I really commend the military and how they pulled this off.
