BRET BAIER, FOX NEWS: Let’s bring in our panel, FOX News contributor Guy Benson, political White House bureau chief Dasha Burns, and Josh Holmes, co-host of “The Ruthless” podcast and former chief of staff to Senator Mitch McConnell. OK, all three of you there. Guy, what you make of this, and where to put it? It seems like a big deal. The president talked about a block. You heard the Obama office response. GUY BENSON, POLITICAL EDITOR, TOWNHALL.COM: Treason is about as loaded and heated as you can get, and I would probably encourage people to tap the brakes there and try to take a broader look at what’s happening here. A lot of the disclosures and revelations just recently, as released by Tulsi Gabbard, for the most part fortify what we knew, from the Durham investigation and beyond. There is still a very thick residue of scandal here looking back at the Obama administration, the Hillary campaign, et cetera. A lot of things were questionable and, I think, scandalous for sure. The question is, is there something really new and significant? There is a dispute even on the right about that today. One thing I would encourage the audience to consider, though, is a piece at “The Federalist” written by 33 year veteran of the FBI, Thomas Baker. His conclusion in the piece, and people can Google it and look it up, is regardless of where these investigations go — the criminal investigations potentially — specifically into James Comey and John Brennan, that pair, those two will be judged and convicted by history as reckless partisans. That is his conclusion as a longtime respected veteran of the FBI. And I think it’s worthwhile piece to consider.
