Hillary Clinton: I Wish There Could Be A National Sound System To Alert Us “We Have Solved” The Problem That Is Trump
Former Secretary of State Hillary Clinton participated in a New York City panel discussion titled “History Has Its Eyes on Us: A Special Conversation,” alongside actor and playwright Lin-Manuel Miranda and blogger Heather Cox Richardson. Following a fire announcement during the program, Clinton remarked she wishes there were a “national sound system” to announce that “the problem” that is President Donald Trump has been “solved.” “But the reason we’re here tonight is to remind all of us, including ourselves, that that can’t happen unless we make it happen,” Clinton added.
FORMER SECRETARY OF STATE: You know what this reminds me of is I wish that there could be like a huge national sound system. And we would all wake up and they’d say “Attention! Attention! We have found the problem, and we have solved it. He is gone! [APPLAUSE] But the reason we’re here tonight is to remind all of us, including ourselves that that can’t happen unless we make it happen. And so when you ask what you know what we’re what we’re doing, you know, one of the things very clearly Latino victory on we’re together. We are — thanks to your support — we are able to provide funding to candidates on behalf of causes, you know to try to elect people that are going to stand against this, you know, tide of intolerance and cruelty and all that goes with it.
