Hugh Hewitt: Minneapolis Left-Wing Activists Would Like To Create A Northern Version Of Rodney King
Radio host and FOX News contributor Hugh Hewitt weighs in on the protests in Minneapolis on Friday’s broadcast of “Special Report.”
BRET BAIER, FOX NEWS: With that, let’s bring in our panel, Trey Gowdy, former Congressman from South Carolina, host of “Sunday Night in America with Trey Gowdy”, Susan Page, Washington Bureau Chief at “USA Today,” and FOX News contributor Hugh Hewitt. Hugh, we’re in many days now of this back and forth since the killings and the shooting of Renee good and the investigation continues in all of that. Where do you think this stands now, and where’s the politics of this moment? HUGH HEWITT, SYNDICATED RADIO HOST: As for the facts on the ground, they are bad and they’re getting worse, because it’s like a giant flare for every leftwing activist in the United States to get to the Twin Cities and join in the fray. They would like to create an incident, a sort of northern version of Rodney King 30 years ago where an excessive use of force becomes not just the tragedy behind us but future ones and perhaps — it’s very dangerous for the ICE agents and for the other federal task force members. And I am wondering, is there not one responsible member of the Minnesota legislature or statewide elected office — I’m not counting on Jacob Frey to do anything responsible. But I think it’s a very dangerous situation, and it’s drawing left wing activists like a magnet to Minnesota in the middle of the winter. Bad situation all around.
