Nick Kyrgios at Australian Open 2026

Kyrgios will not be at the Australian Open in the singles draw in 2026 after confirming he will not seek a wildcard from Tennis Australia for the event.

He did however reveal he would still play doubles with Thanasi Kokkinakis at the slam – with the duo winning the title in 2022.

"I've made the call to focus on doubles for this year's AO," Kyrgios wrote on Instagram.

"I'm fit and back on court, but 5-setters are a different beast and I'm not quite ready to go the distance yet.

"This tournament means everything to me, but I'd rather give my spot to someone who's ready to make their moment count.

"It's all building blocks and I'll be back next year and pumped to compete. See you out there."

Nick Kyrgios' ATP ranking

After being injured much of the last three years, Kyrgios' ranking has plummeted to 671 in the world.
