Jeremy Boreing: Candace Owens Is Motivated By Wanting To Be The Most Famous Person In The World

On the PragerU podcast “Real Talk” with host Marissa Streit, Daily Wire co-founder gave his insight on Candace Owens as her former employer.

JEREMY BOREING, DAILY WIRE CO-FOUNDER: As an insider in conservative media, I can say what’s happening. I know that what is happening is that Candace Owens wants to be, for example, the most famous person in the world. Well, she’s always said that she wanted to be the most famous person in the world. That’s what motivates her. Candace does not engage in questions of true and false in the way that her audience engages in questions of true and false. Candace believes what she says when she says it. She can contradict herself one minute later in a conversation and she now believes that the thing that she says is useful to her exactly when she says it. She’s not constructing some sort of ideology that she feels that she’s bound herself to. That’s very hard for people to understand at home. They assume that if someone says something to them, they at least believe it when they say it or that they at least believed it before they said it. That’s not true of Candace. How do you know that? Because I know her. Because you know her. Because she says things like, I want to be the most famous person in the world. Because I’ve been in conversations where she’s taken both sides of an issue. I’ve seen the effect that she has on people in real life and I’ve seen the effect that she has on people online. I know that what she is engaged in, therefore, is fundamentally not a political project. Candace isn’t overly concerned with the societal impact of what she says. She’s primarily concerned by whether or not she gets engagement. In a way, she’s like a human algorithm, which is why I say she’s the queen of the grift industrial complex. She’s like this online phenomenon of grifting is personified in her. She has an unbelievable instinct, an instinct that every marketer in the world wishes they had the instinct that Candace has to always know where the water’s flowing, to always be able to use her platform to self-aggrandize.
