Jill Biden Press Sec Michael LaRosa: If You Weren’t Stonewalling, It Was A Sign Of Betrayal Or Disloyalty

Michael LaRosa, former press secretary to Jill Biden, speaks out on the “culture of evasiveness” surrounding the Biden family as Ashley Williams is set to face questions from lawmakers on Biden’s time in the White House.

‘FOX & FRIENDS FIRST’ CO-HOST: Michael LaRosa was press secretary for First Lady Jill Biden joins us now. Michael, great to have you here in studio. You know the inner workings of the Biden White House better than almost anyone. How crucial will Ashley Williams be to this investigation? MICHAEL LAROSA: Ashley is an unflinching, loyal aide to the Bidens. She’s part of a group that I think, she’s been with them for a long time, first of all, but part of that group that I say is very emotionally and personally invested in the Bidens. Her, Anthony, Annie, Tomasini, they were all given a lot of latitude and authority. So she would have, she knows everything in terms of how, whatever accommodations that they’re looking to discuss with, with Ashley, she would know a lot. She’s smart. She’s a lawyer in her own right. But hopefully she’s, she takes a different approach than some of my other teammates have taken. KEVIN O’COURKE, ‘FOX & FRIENDS FIRST’ CO-HOST: Dr. Kevin O’Connor’s attorneys are urging House investigators to pause this probe. It’s an interesting strategy. We’ve been watching this, obviously, for the last several days, and he seems to be saying this is a tactic, frankly, to avoid just managing the country. And there are those, however, on the right who are saying this is a stalling tactic being rolled out by a guy who should have known better. What do you think of that? LAROSA: I think it’s sort of reflective of my experience when I was there. It was a culture of evasiveness when it comes to transparency. I said to your colleague, Rachel Campos Duffy, a couple weeks ago that they were allergic to transparency. And if you weren’t being, if you weren’t stonewalling, if you weren’t hiding the ball, it was usually a sign of betrayal or disloyalty to the Bidens. But I just don’t think that this bunker mentality approach is helpful to, reputationally, to the Bidens, to Dr. B and to the president. They should be full disclosure, full transparency, showing that they have nothing to hide. This bunker mentality is sort of a way that people approached politics in the 90s, and it’s just not sustainable in the media environment we live in.
