Jim Hanson: You Are Witnessing The Trump Corollary To The Monroe Doctrine
Jim Hanson on ‘Jesse Watters Primetime,’ talked about President Donald Trump’s foreign policy with dealing with Venezuela’s Nicolas Maduro:
JIM HANSON: I think what we are seeing is the first instance of the Trump corollary to the Monroe Doctrine which said that, you know, don’t mess around in our backyard was the old-school version, big powers, global powers. Now President Trump has said don’t run bad operations with your global bodies in our backyard or else. He added the FAFO part of that and they are feeling it now. I think this will continue. The goal is not a land war in Venezuela, not even close. Maduro is leaving. The only reason for the only question is where he’s going. It’s working and that’s the problem for the left and the others, they don’t want to see Trump working properly to keep our backyard safe. JESSE WATTERS: You just made an assertion that he’s leaving. How do we know that? We are hearing options like Qatar and Belarus but how do we know he won’t just stay and be a martyr? HANSON: Martyrdom is not what most tyrants want. I mean tyranny is about gathering all of your toys together and then going and enjoying them somewhere. He’s looking for a soft landing somewhere. I think that is something that we can help them with. Who cares where he goes, he just needs to get out. He’s got no right, nor does anyone, to be running drugs and smuggling oil to make money for bad purposes with bad people in the Western Hemisphere. We are just not going to allow it.
