Kash Patel on Assaulting Federal Law Enforcement: “If You Touch A Cop, We’re Going To Put You Down”
This morning FBI Director Kash Patel was a guest on SiriusXM Patriot channel’s “Breitbart News Saturday,” where he spoke with host Matt Boyle about why arrests are up throughout the country for assaults on federal officers. Saying that you have to back the blue, Patel added that If you touch a cop, we’re going to put you down. And that’s what we’re doing.
MATT BOYLE, HOST: Arrests for assaults on federal officers, right? This is federal officers, AFOs, have gone up from what I understand, at least threefold in the first year of the Trump second term here. Can you talk to us about how important that is about standing up for law enforcement officers? Like when radical lefties or crazy people, et cetera, attack officers, oftentimes the political left, if you will, they’ll leave them hanging. They won’t do anything to stand up for the law enforcement officers. You guys have actually been arresting people that do that. Novel concept. But talk to us about the importance of that. FBI DIRECTOR KASH PATEL: You have to back the blue, and this is, I say the following to as many officers and Americans that I get in front of. If you touch a cop, we’re going to put you down. And that’s what we’re doing. The FBI is going to back our partners in law enforcement across this country, and for any criminal that’s willing to engage or think that they can engage and hit or strike or impede law enforcement, is going to face the full force of law enforcement. And that’s why the arrest numbers are up. And look, again, we’re not saying that you can’t go out there and peacefully protest. We are simply saying, you strike a police officer doing his lawful duty, you cannot interfere with him and his lawful execution of his lawful duty. And so I think, and I know this, the police around the country, like you said, are so empowered by the fact that we are backing the blue, that they know they have that backing. And they also know that if they’re physically harmed, they’re just not going to have some perp get away with it. We’re going to go find them and we’re going to arrest him.
