NBC Reporter in Tel Aviv: Monday Night “Less Terrifying,” Iranians Could Be “Running Out Of Steam”
NBC’s Matt Bradley said Monday night was “quite a bit less terrifying” than Friday, Saturday or Sunday, and the Iranians could be “running out of steam.” “According to the IDF, last night was the lightest Iranian assault on Israel since this all began with Israel’s attacks against Iran on Friday morning,” he said. “We even heard from the Ministry of Health here in Israel that 154 people arrived at hospitals, though they were injured only in trying to reach their safe rooms or were experiencing anxiety. So this really was a very light night.”
NBC: It’s been a surprising night. I mean, it was quite a bit less terrifying than some of the previous evenings when-even inside these barricaded rooms that we see in almost every building in Israel-you could still hear impacts outside. It was pretty frightening. But last night, we had three sirens and went into shelters. After ten or fifteen minutes, we were told it was okay to come out. According to the IDF, last night was the lightest Iranian assault on Israel since this all began with Israel’s attacks against Iran on Friday morning. We even heard from the Ministry of Health here in Israel that 154 people arrived at hospitals, though they were injured only in trying to reach their safe rooms or were experiencing anxiety. So this really was a very light night. Whether this means that the Iranians are running out of steam is hard to say. The Israelis claim they’ve eliminated about a third of Iran’s ballistic-missile capability, and they enjoy total dominance in the air over Tehran, the capital, and much of western Iran. It seems they have whatever targets they want-this, of course, according to the Israelis. Meanwhile, the death toll in Iran continues to rise-now more than two hundred and likely climbing-and neither side appears any closer to a negotiated deal.
