Scarborough: Conspiracy Theories Help People Justify “Why Their Lives May Not Be As Great As They Want”

“Morning Joe” host Joe Scarborough on Friday explained why he believes people believe President Obama had involvement in the Russian collusion story.

SCARBOROOUGH: Any of these Republicans go home and repeat what Donald Trump says, it’ll be, oh, you’re part of the conspiracy now. And so again, they’re, they’re in a very bad position. And again, David said, conspiracy theories, they feed on themselves no matter what happens. You know, it’s like it feeds into that conspiracy and, and, and again, suggesting that, that the government or other organizations can do things that they’re incapable of doing. I remember going to a council and foreign relations meeting and a friend from Pensacola joking with him going, oh, one world order guy, huh? They’re, they’re a cabal that are playing. I go, man, they can’t even get my ham sandwich order right, dude. How do you think they could like, like create a new world order? It’s just not there. But it doesn’t matter. The conspiracy theories grow up, help people explain things, why their lives may not be as great as they want them to be because of those elites running their conspiracy theories in Washington, D.C. And right now, uh, the Trump administration and the House Republicans are running head on into that brick wall.
