White House Deputy Chief of Staff Stephen Miller told FOX News host Sean Hannity that the sanctuary city policy of catch and release is an “act of terror” against American citizens and cannot be explained unless one hates America.

SEAN HANNITY, HOST: Now, despite the endless pushback from the left, President Trump is not backing down on his promise to make our country safe again. As ICE raids in Chicago, they have now begun. Here with Reaction, Deputy Chief of Staff for Policy, Homeland Security Advisor, our friend Stephen Miller. Well, I mean, a lot of crimes are being committed by illegals, unvetted, allowed in by Harris and Biden and Mayorkas. All right, so last weekend it was 58 shot, eight dead. This weekend, 18 shot and, I’m sorry, 19 shot and seven dead, or eight dead now, I guess at this point. So, I mean, the crime continues. They don’t seem to care. Illegal immigrant crime continues. They want open borders. They don’t want any vetting. And they want criminals to stay on the street. Maybe you could do that, which Sean Duffy and myself cannot do. Maybe you can explain the mentality. STEPHEN MILLER, WHITE HOUSE DEPUTY CHIEF OF STAFF: The Democrat Party, Sean, is terrorizing the American people. Just think about what is happening in our major cities. The bloodbaths every single weekend. One victim after another, one shooting after another, one murder after another. When you have Democrat politicians like Pritzer and Newscom that are freeing illegal alien pedophiles, illegal alien child abductors, illegal alien murderers back into our streets to kidnap people, to beat them senseless, to stab them and shoot them to death. This is terrorism being waged against the American people. And then you look at that video that chills our very souls out of Charlotte, that beautiful young woman stabbed to death, murdered savagely on a subway just trying to get home from work, fleeing war only to run into a Democrat war zone here in our country. That monster, 14 prior arrests in and out, in and out. The Democrat policies of catch and release for barbarians and savages is truly an act of terror, Sean, against the American people. It cannot be explained unless you deeply, fundamentally hate America. SEAN HANNITY: How do you explain New York City, and it was on the cover of the New York Post, we showed it earlier, you have 63 repeat offenders, 5,000 crimes combined. Of the 63, only five of them are in jail. It defies gravity, it defies any sense of logic, any sense of common sense that you might have been born with to allow these people out on the street time after time after time after time. Now, the problem, too, is now the Democratic Party is institutionalizing these policies, and they’re running on these policies. Look at Mamdani, the guy that’s most likely going to be the new New York City mayor, if you believe the polls. Okay, this guy wants to take it to another level. So this is what I guess is now the platform of this radicalized Democratic Party. How does that play out politically? STEPHEN MILLER: Well, President Trump, I think very correctly said that one of the biggest, if not the single biggest issue in the midterms next year, is going to be crime. Crime and public safety. Democrats have turned these cities into hellholes, Sean. The 10 most violent, bloody, dangerous cities in America are all run by Democrats. Democrat city councils, Democrat mayors, Democrat politicians at every level. And it’s not just the top 10, it goes much deeper than that. Every major city in America that is besieged by violence, mayhem, and bloodshed, and narco-trafficking are run by Democrats. Look, this has become the religion celebrating criminals, celebrating predators, celebrating illegal aliens who prey on our citizens. And you talk about your example in New York City, where the same people, they keep offending, they keep harassing, they keep assaulting, they keep getting released. We cannot call this simply misguided. We cannot call this simply stupid. It’s evil. It is deliberate. It is malign. It is malicious. They know what they’re doing. The judges know, the city councils know, the Soros DAs know, the Democrat governors know. They understand. If you release a monster, a monster will kill. If you release a savage, a savage will kill. If you release a person who has only known violence their entire lives, only committed violence their entire lives, they’re going to keep on committing acts of barbarous violence. President Trump is saying, if you want to be safe, stand with President Trump. Stand with the Republican Party, because President Trump will fight for you, just like he’s fighting here in Washington, D.C., every day. You have mothers whose kids were murdered in previous years who said, thank God Donald Trump has come here to avenge this injustice and to keep thousands more mothers from having to bury their children. President Trump has said the Republican Party will fight like hell to keep your kids safe. That’s the choice facing America, Sean.
