Trump: Iran Called Yesterday To Negotiate, But We May Have To Act Before Meeting
President Trump told reporters on Air Force One on Sunday evening that the leaders of Iran called yesterday to “negotiate,” but due to the violence against protesters, the U.S. “may have to act… before the meeting.” “But a meeting is being set up,” he said. “Iran called, they want to negotiate.”
REPORTER: Is there willingness for Iran to engage diplomatically with you or perhaps negotiate on nuclear — their nuclear program — dp you think they want to engage diplomatically with you? PRESIDENT DONALD TRUMP: They do. They called yesterday, Iran called to negotiate. The leaders of Iran called. They want to negotiate. I think they’re tired of being beat up by the United States. Iran wants to negotiate, yes. We may meet with them. I mean a meeting is being set up. But we may have to act, because of what’s happening, before the meeting, but a meeting is being set up. Iran called, they want to negotiate.
