Nick Kyrgios<\/a>\u2018 provisional suspension for cocaine has caused many tennis<\/a> fans to take pause. Kyrgios\u2019 brash outspoken nature condemned Iga Swiatek and Jannik Sinner<\/a> for their failed doping tests. However, long before Swiatek and Sinner\u2019s 2024 issues, Kyrgios had a lot to say about Simona Halep\u2019s failed test.<\/p>\n

Halep\u2019s test, like Swiatek and Sinner\u2019s, was a result of inadvertantly ingesting a banned substance. Her judiciary process following her 2022 test was very slow in comparison. It essentially cost her four valuable years in her thirties and ended her career.<\/p>\n

Halep has made peace with the past, but it was interesting to see her speak out against Kyrgios without ever mentioning his name.<\/p>\n

What Halep said<\/h2>\n

Halep got her point across without mentioning Kyrgios by name.<\/p>\n

She wrote:<\/a> \u201cNever kick someone when they\u2019re down. Life has a strange way of changing positions. And an even stranger way of revealing the difference between an accident and a choice.\u201d<\/p>\n

Halep is finding the holes in the argument that some have posed in Kyrgios\u2019 favor. They say cocaine is not a performance-enhancing drug; whereas, the substances Halep, Swiatek, and Sinner took, without their direct knowledge, were.<\/p>\n

She points out the key difference which is that Kyrgios knowingly took cocaine. At the time of her test and suspension, Kyrgios <\/a>accused her of taking \u201cshady sh$ %\u201d and said he would have five Grand Slams if he took that stuff. Halep never forgot what he said to any media outlet who would listen to him at the time.<\/p>\n

Halep won 24 WTA titles including the 2018 French Open and 2019 Wimbledon Championships. Kyrgios won seven ATP singles titles, and the 2022 Australian Open men\u2019s doubles title.<\/p>\n
