Democratic strategist James Carville asks whether President Trump even cares about Republicans winning the midterm elections on the most recent episode of his podcast: <\/p>\n
JAMES CARVILLE: I used to detest Mike Johnson, alright? And I really genuinely mean that – but I feel sorry for him. He is so in over his head. He’s been so manipulated. He’s been so beat up. He’s been so exploited, and doesn’t even know it. And now I think it’s starting to break through. The interesting thing – and a friend of this show, we’ve had him as a guest, is doing something today, G. Elliott Morris, and he’s going to say – he’s doing an episode today saying something that I’ve thought and other people have: Is Trump trying to lose? Okay, we know people lose elections, and most politicians kind of want to win. Does he really want to win? Does he care? I don’t know. But, I mean, it’s a question that’s got to be asked because everything he does – I mean, we lost bad in ’94, and people were, you know – Obama lost bad in 2010, but, I mean, they were trying. This guy, from every piece of evidence you see, he’s actually trying to lose. I don’t know, but I think there’s going to be a question going forward that people are going to want answers to.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
