Coco Gauff will end the 2026 season without a Grand Slam title under her belt, having fallen short in the semifinals of the US Open. Following her loss, the American was forced to deal with the frustrating issue of users impersonating her online, prompting Gauff to voice her displeasure regarding the phenomenon.<\/p>\n

Coco Gauff Calls Out Online Impersonators After US Open Heartbreak<\/h2>\n

After triumphing at the Cincinnati Open, Gauff entered the US Open as one of the top contenders for the title. The 22-year-old produced a stellar campaign at her home Slam, reaching the quarterfinals without dropping a set. She then secured an impressive comeback win over Mirra Andreeva but was ousted by eventual champion Elena Rybakina in the semifinals.<\/p>\n

Subsequently, a user impersonating Gauff on X shared a message detailing her mindset about her loss at the New York Major. The fake post gained traction and earned over 25,000 likes.<\/p>\n

\u201cgive it my all. new york, thank you. it hurts but I\u2019ll be back,\u201d the user posted.<\/p>\n

As the post circulated, it caught the attention of Gauff herself, who firmly told the user to stop impersonating her and called out the \u201cweird\u201d situation.<\/p>\n

\u201cfake account. stop pretending to be me. mad weird,\u201d Gauff responded<\/a>.<\/p>\n

Gauff further criticized the user for blocking her and urged them to \u201cstop scamming people.\u201d<\/p>\n

\u201creport this account. lol impersonating me then blocking me from engaging with you. lol weird. @CocoGauff448 delete your account and stop scamming people,\u201d she wrote.<\/p>\n

Gauff then learned that this was not an isolated incident and that there were several users impersonating her and scamming her fans for money. In response, the American made it clear that she would never ask her followers for money and warned them not to fall for such requests.<\/p>\n

\u201cand while we are here, I will never ask people to send me money. I have been told there are a lot of accounts scamming people pretending to be me. I am not on Telegram or would communicate with people on whatsapp. Please DO NOT send money to \u201cme\u201d because I promise it\u2019s not me,\u201d she commented<\/a>.<\/p>\n

On the tennis front, Coco Gauff will enjoy some well-deserved time off before returning to action at the China Open. The WTA 1000 event, scheduled to begin on Sept. 30, will feature a star-studded field, including Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka, Jessica Pegula, Iga \u015awi\u0105tek, and defending champion Amanda Anisimova, among others.<\/p>\n
