You can listen to the show live, weekdays at 11:00 a.m. on SiriusXM’s Megyn Kelly Channel 111, and then on Apple, Spotify, YouTube, and here on our website. *** The show opens with the DOJ dropping its criminal probe into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell — something North Carolina GOP Sen. Thom Tillis said was a dealbreaker if they want his vote on Powell’s replacement. “Dropping the probe in exchange for a senator’s vote seems to suggest it was not really kosher to begin with,” Carl Cannon suggested. *** At minute 4:30, the panel turns to the defense of shoplifting-or “microlooting”-published this week in the New York Times, asking whether “petty theft might be the new political protest.” NYT Podcast: ‘The Rich Don’t Play by the Rules. So Why Should I?’ “But only things they deem stick it to the capitalist man,” Tom Bevan explained. “Hasan Piker said he wouldn’t steal from Mamdani’s city-owned grocery store. No, no, that would be wrong because those prices are already subsidized by the taxpayers. It’s total nonsense.” “And asked if he would steal a car, Piker says he’d do it if he could get away with it,” Carl Cannon added. “So this is actually an argument for prisons and incarceration. These people are educated, they’re very articulate, but they’re stupid! How would you like it if your car were stolen?” *** At minute 18, the group looks forward to the White House Correspondents’ Dinner tomorrow in Washington, where Donald Trump will be attending for the first time as president. Some blame President Obama’s 2016 mockery of Trump at this dinner for inspiring some of his attitude toward Washington. Watch: President Obama Roasts Donald Trump At 20`16 WH Correspondents’ Dinner “It used to be called the ‘nerd prom’ — but that was before they started inviting movie stars and Hollywood types, so it’s not nerdy anymore,” Cannon said. “I think Trump formed an impression that the dinner was for liberals and media types to make fun of Republicans.” *** Finally, 34 minutes into the show, the panel gives their weekly “You Cannot Be Serious?!” roundup of entertaining headlines. *** Don’t miss a single episode of the RealClearPolitics daily radio show – subscribe at Apple, Spotify, or wherever you listen to podcasts.
RealClearPolitics Videos

Friday on the RealClearPolitics podcast, Tom Bevan, Andrew Walworth, and Carl Cannon discuss the Department of Justice dropping its investigation into Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, and the New York Times publishing an intellectual defense of shoplifting.
