Two area teams will lock up their berths in the state tennis tournament on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Shady Spring\u2019s and Liberty\u2019s boys and girls will meet at 2 p.m. at Shady Spring in the Class AA\/A Region 3 Team Tournament. Shady is the No. 2 seed and Liberty No. 3.<\/p>\n
Charleston Catholic is the No. 1 seed in the boys and girls brackets. The boys will meet No. 4 Bluefield in Shady Spring, while the Irish girls are scheduled to host No. 4 Herbert Hoover.<\/p>\n
All winners will qualify for the state tournament May 14-16 at the Kanawha City Community Center and Charleston Catholic High School.<\/p>\n
Shady Spring will also host the Region 3 singles and doubles tournaments Monday and Tuesday at 9 a.m. Monday will see predominantly singles matches, with as many doubles matches as possible.<\/p>\n
The four singles semifinalists and doubles finalists will advance to the state tournament.<\/p>\n
Region 3 is comprised of Independence, Greenbrier West, Midland Trail, River View, Westside, Wyoming East, Mount View and Braxton County, in addition to Shady Spring, Liberty, Bluefield, Charleston Catholic and Herbert Hoover.<\/p>\n
