Brown right now, a week before he is likely to be traded by Philadelphia to the highest bidder. According to NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport on Friday evening, the Rams were the second-most likely team to trade for Brown behind only the New England Patriots, but they are “no longer in the mix” as of this week.

Anything could change until A.J. Brown is actually traded by the Philadelphia Eagles to the New England Patriots or any other team, but one of the top NFL Insiders is reporting that the Los Angeles Rams are out of the running.

From The Insiders on @NFLNetwork: The window for a potential AJ Brown trade by the #Eagles to the #Patriots (or anyone else) is about to open. pic.twitter.com/YSUDwZ3G5t

— Ian Rapoport (@RapSheet) May 22, 2026

With an expected price tag of a future first round pick, it would make sense that the L.A. Rams feel it’s better to hold onto the draft capital into a Super Bowl-contending season than to use it on another wide receiver, a position that for all intents and purposes appears set. Although the Rams are relying heavily on Puka Nacua and Davante Adams to remain healthy, available, and out of trouble for the duration of the season and playoffs, L.A.’s potential for failure at other positions is far greater.

Even if it turns out the receiver does become a need during the season, general manager Les Snead could also use his first and second round picks as bargaining chips for the trade deadline.

For now, A.J. Brown remains an Eagle. That is expected to change in a week, but it is not expected to be the Rams doing the trading.

Jan 19, 2025; Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA; Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver A.J.
