Democratic strategist Yemisi Egbewole weighs in on sexual assault allegations made against Maine Democratic Senate candidate Graham Platner. On the “Special Report” panel, Egbewole was asked to opine on what lessons are to be learned for Democrats: “Don’t underestimate the values of the working class. Just because you pick up some bum and you dress him in overalls, doesn’t mean people are going to buy it.” <\/p>\n
AISHAH HASNIE, FOX NEWS: What I find interesting in the last 24 hours, Yemisi, is I’ve seen more criticism of Democrats at each other than I have of Graham Platner. And I wonder if there is something bigger going on, because there is. This civil war in the Democratic Party, these socialists, these far left-wing folks, people that supported Graham Platner, have become the loudest voice in the room. But now the moderates, the centrists, almost have, you know, an excuse to say, I told you so. YEMISI EGBEWOLE, DEMOCRATIC STRATEGIST: And we did. We said it back in October when the Reddit comments and the tattoo came out. And a Nazi tattoo, a Totenkopf, should be the red line for anybody. And it’s great to see so many congressional Democrats and leaders across the nation come out and speak about Graham Platner. But to be clear, the time for that was also last year, because then we could pivot. Now we’re in a state of almost emergency, because Graham Platner, although he has not admitted or denied anything, has still not dropped out. And in a sense, he is holding the Democratic Party hostage, whether it’s because he wants to choose his replacement, which he does not have the credibility to do that, and that’s entitlement, or the fact that he thinks that he will still survive. What we have learned, even from polling before this dropped, was that he wasn’t even doing well with non-college-educated white men. That was supposed to be his secret sauce. That was why I was supposed to tolerate Graham Platner in the Democratic Party. He didn’t deliver on that, and quite frankly, he’s a danger to his community.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
