Lindsey Graham, saying he was like &#8220;a member of the family.&#8221;   <iframe loading=\"lazy\" width=\"560\" height=\"315\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/HQBLAbPbx0E?si=Cpsb-bK8m_OzIjxp\" title=\"YouTube video player\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" referrerpolicy=\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe>  &#8220;I got a call from him some time in the early evening,&#8221; Trump told &#8220;Meet the Press.&#8221; &#8220;He called and said we&#8217;re all set for the SAVE America Act. He said he just landed from Ukraine&#8230; he sounded a little bit tired. But he had a right to be; he was a worker.&#8221;  &#8220;That was it,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;It could have been his last call, I don&#8217;t know.&#8221;  &#8220;He was one of the 17 people who ran against me. He was a smart guy. It was a nasty campaign. He was tough and nasty, but I was nasty too, and it worked out fine,&#8221; Trump told CNN. &#8220;I got to know him by little drips and drabs, and then we became friendly.&#8221;  CNN&#8217;s Jake Tapper asked about Iran: &#8220;The U.S. and Iran have been engaging back and forth in strikes over the last few days and overnight. Are we back at war, and who controls the Strait of Hormuz?&#8221;  Trump replied: &#8220;Out of respect for Lindsey, I&#8217;m not talking about that. We hit them very hard last night.&#8221;  &#8220;We had a deal with them yesterday-they were giving up everything and then all of a sudden, two hours after that, they hit a ship with a drone. And I said, these people, there&#8217;s something wrong with them,&#8221; Trump said.   &#8220;I&#8217;m talking about a man who had nothing wrong with him, and that&#8217;s Lindsey Graham,&#8221; Trump said. &#8220;He was a great politician. People don&#8217;t realize what a good politician he was&#8230; You&#8217;ve probably never heard me say that about anybody. There aren&#8217;t too many of them&#8230; This man was a great politician.
