MAJOR GARRETT: There’s another thing the president is going to talk about that I think will click in our viewers’ ears. In cooperation with 12 states, the administration believes it has found 25,000 non-citizens on voter rolls, and it extrapolates from that the potential of 250,000 non-citizen on voter rolls in our country. Again, that’s a number that would probably, to our viewers, cause some sense of concern. One thing to know about that, just because you’re on a voter roll does not mean you’re an active participant. Lots of Americans are on rolls and don’t cast ballots in elections. And states do a pretty good job of trying to scrub their voter rolls on a regular basis to look for this, but the administration will ask the states to be more aggressive in this space.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
