UFC Belgrade<\/a><\/strong> happens this weekend (Sat., Aug. 1, 2026) inside Belgrade Arena in Belgrade, Serbia. The event gets underway at a special time of 10 a.m. ET! <\/strong>The card features several fighters from this neck of the woods, including in the main event.<\/p>\n

Uros Medic<\/strong> vs. Daniel Rodriguez<\/strong><\/a> is scheduled for five rounds, but I doubt we\u2019ll need all them. This is a first main event for both fighters. Medic is coming off a string of quick knockouts, the Serbian fans will be hoping to see another on Saturday.<\/p>\n

The co-main event is Jan Blachowicz<\/strong> vs. Navajo Stirling<\/strong><\/a>, with Stirling coming in on short notice for Bogdan Guskov<\/strong>. Rounding out the main card is Marcin Tybura<\/strong> vs. Aleksandar Rakic<\/strong>, Dusko Todorovic<\/strong> vs. Robert Valentin<\/strong>, Vlasto Cepo <\/strong>vs. Gilbert Urbina<\/strong> and Milos Janicic <\/strong>vs. Noah Gugnon<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

The \u201cPrelims\u201d are headlined by Ludovit Klein<\/strong> vs. Tofiq Musayev<\/strong>. There\u2019s also Oban Elliott<\/strong> vs. Michael Oliveira<\/strong> and Bogdan Grad<\/strong> vs. Dennis Buzukja<\/strong>.<\/p>\n

As always, there\u2019s lots to bet on this card and we\u2019ve got odds for all the fights below:<\/p>\n

UFC Belgrade Main Card Money Line Odds<\/strong><\/h2>\n

Uros Medic (-375) vs. Daniel Rodriguez (+295)<\/h3>\n

Medic<\/strong> is the Welterweight Terrance McKinney<\/strong> with a \u2018blink and you\u2019ll miss it\u2019 fight style, in both his wins and losses. He\u2019s 13-3 as a pro with all his wins being stoppages (and only two being submissions). His last win was a 79 second KO over Geoff Neal<\/strong> (see it here<\/a><\/strong>). Before that he knocked out Muslim Salikhov<\/strong> in 63 seconds (see it here<\/a><\/strong>) and Gilbert Urbina<\/strong> in 63 seconds, too (see it here<\/a><\/strong>). Before those he lost to Punahele Soriano<\/strong>, in 31 seconds! His other two losses are to Myktybek Orolbai<\/strong> and Jalin Turner<\/strong> (both by submission). <\/p>\n

Rodriguez<\/strong> has been out of action for over a year. A big reason for that was because of his stint in a Mexican jail. MMA, ladies and gentlemen\u2026<\/p>\n

Before that time on the \u2018sidelines\u2019, Rodriguez took a decision over Kevin Holland<\/strong> in a wild fight where both men were close to being knocked out. Before that he TKO\u2019d Santiago Ponznibbo<\/strong> (see it here<\/a><\/strong>) and managed a split decision over Alex Morono<\/strong>. His last loss was to Kelvin Gastelum<\/strong>, which he was forced to fight up a weight class due to Gastelum\u2019s cutting failure. Rodriguez is now 10-4 in UFC. He turns 40 in December.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m expecting Medic to repeat what he did against Neal here and take out an aging veteran in a hurry. <\/p>\n

I don\u2019t think Medic is a future contender and I think he\u2019s going to get some pretty painful losses once he starts messing around in the top fifteen. But I think this is a very friendly match-up here. <\/p>\n

Rodriguez is a volume striker who taps away at opponents to win rounds, with the hopes he can tire them down the stretch. His recent finish over Ponzinibbio isn\u2019t that impressive, considering how fragile Ponzinibbio has looked over the past few years (he was just finished last week). His other UFC striking stoppages are over Dwight Grant<\/strong> and Preston Parsons<\/strong>. A third of Grant\u2019s losses are by KO\/TKO. And a half of Parson\u2019s losses are by that method.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez does have good defense, but I don\u2019t think he can fend off Medic for too long and without that counter kill shot to stop him, I think Medic is going to be able to land something big sooner or later.<\/p>\n

Medic doesn\u2019t get talked about a lot, but he has the highest knockdown rate in the division (and this is a very good division right now). He also has above average accuracy on his sig. strikes (60 percent), so he\u2019s not just spamming shots. He\u2019s choosing them. And his defense is above average, too (56 percent), so he won\u2019t be totally open to Rodriguez\u2019s counters.<\/p>\n

So I\u2019m pretty confident that Medic wins. The big question, for me, is when does he win. The round total is, of course, 1.5 rounds. The under is -195 and the over is +150. I think the over might be the play here.<\/p>\n

Rodriguez is an intelligent fighter and he must know that he can\u2019t stand and trade with Medic. I think he could probably stifle Medic in the first and get this fight deeper than what we expect. Rodriguez is also pretty durable, with just the one KO\/TKO loss on his record \u2013 an Ian Machado-Garry<\/strong> head kick (see it here<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

Also, let\u2019s not forget that Medic has been into the second and third rounds before. <\/p>\n

I\u2019ll take that over with at plus money.<\/p>\n

Best bet: <\/strong>Over 1.5 rounds (+150)<\/em><\/h4>\n

Jan Blachowicz (+260) vs. Navajo Stirling (-325)<\/h3>\n

43-year-old Blachowicz<\/strong> is coming off a draw with Bogdan Guskov<\/strong> in December. He was almost finished in the first round, but came back to win the second and third. He was due to rematch Guskov on Saturday, but Guskov ended up getting drafted into the Abu Dhabi main event, which he subsequently lost to Magomed Ankalaev<\/strong> (after spending most of the fight running away). Before the draw with Guskov, Blachowicz lost a clear decision to Carlos Ulberg<\/strong> and a very close decision to Alex Pereira<\/strong>. The brief former champ is now 12-8 in UFC.<\/p>\n

Stirling<\/strong> comes in on about three weeks\u2019 notice to fight Blachowicz. He and his camp should be pretty familiar with Polish Power, though, having steered Ulberg to a decision over him last year. Stirling is 10-0 now after notching his fifth UFC win a month ago. That was his weird fight with Ion Cutelaba<\/strong> that ended by second round TKO. That was his second finish in UFC, having stopped Bruno Lopes<\/strong> before that (see it here<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

It\u2019s unusual to see the short notice fighter be such a big favorite, but this really is a great situation for Stirling (who took zero damage in the Cutelaba fight). I\u2019m not super sold on Stirling\u2019s value as a super prospect, despite his undefeated record. But I think his size and athleticism will be enough to get by the aging Blachowicz.<\/p>\n

Blachowicz\u2019s best chance of winning is that Polish Power of his. However, Stirling has been very good at avoiding getting hit and hurt. That\u2019s a pretty big deal at Light Heavyweight, which is home to lots of killers who love to swing from the hip. <\/p>\n

Stirling leads the division with a striking differential at 3.62, above Ulberg and Pereira (and even Jon Jones<\/strong>\u2019 career clip). His freakish reach helps with a lot of this. It\u2019s easy for him to stay out of trouble with a 79 inch reach. Interestingly, Blachowicz has freakish reach, too, but it\u2019s more deceptive. His is just one inch shorter. <\/p>\n

So it might be harder for Stirling to stay out of range in this fight, but his youth and speed are going to help that out a lot, too. I think he gets the biggest win of his career on Saturday, but I don\u2019t think he stops the former champ. Blachowicz has only been stopped with strikes twice in his 42 fight career. The last time that happened was against Thiago Santos<\/strong> in 2019. Before that, it was Sokoudjou<\/strong> (haven\u2019t written that name in a long time) in 2011.<\/p>\n

Best bet: Navajo Stirling by decision (-105)<\/em><\/strong><\/h4>\n

Aleksandar Rakic (-345) vs. Marcin Tybura (+275)<\/h3>\n

Rakic<\/strong> makes his Heavyweight debut on Saturday. The 34 year-old Austrian of Serbian heritage has fled to the division after four straight losses at 205 lbs. The most recent of those losses was in October, when he went down from a jab by Azamat Murzakanov<\/strong> (see it here<\/a><\/strong>). He\u2019s also recently lost to Magomed Ankalaev<\/strong> and Jiri Prochazka<\/strong>. These losses have all happened since he blew out his knee in a bout with Jan Blachowicz<\/strong> in 2022. Before that he was 6-1 in UFC.<\/p>\n

Tybura<\/strong> turned 40 at the end of last year. He\u2019s coming off a decision loss to Tyrell Fortune<\/strong>. Before that he was TKO\u2019d, in the first round, by Ante Delija<\/strong> (see it here<\/a><\/strong>). He\u2019s now 14-10 in UFC 2-3 in his last five.<\/p>\n

This is a hard fight to forecast. The jury is still out on this whole Light Heavyweight to Heavyweight pivot. In this case, though, Rakic is getting an undersized Heavyweight. And an old one, too. Rakic is on the wrong side of 30, himself, but I\u2019d rather than than be on the wrong side of 40 (I say as someone who resides there myself).<\/p>\n

I think Rakic\u2019s speed will be a big advantage in this fight. I don\u2019t know if he\u2019ll have the power to take out the pretty durable Tybura. Tybura will likely try to take that speed out of the equation by pressing Rakic into the fence and trying to drain his energy. I think we\u2019re going to see some of that, but I also think Rakic will be able to do enough around that to get the win.<\/p>\n

Either way, though, I think this fight goes long.<\/p>\n

Best bet: Over 1.5 rounds (-220)<\/strong><\/em><\/h4>\n

Dusko Todorovic (+140) vs. Robert Valentin (-166)<\/h3>\n

Todorovic<\/strong> got a much needed win in September, submitting the woeful Jose Medina<\/strong> in the first round. That snapped a three fight losing skid for the Serbian. Those losses were against Zach Reese<\/strong>, Mansur Abdul-Malik<\/strong> and Christian Leroy Duncan<\/strong> (due to a knee injury). He\u2019s 4-6 in UFC, but he\u2019s had a strong schedule that also includes Chidi Njokuani<\/strong>, Gregory Rodrigues<\/strong> and Punahele Soriano<\/strong>. <\/p>\n

Valentin<\/strong> got a much needed win recently, too. He got his first win since graduating from TUF<\/em> when he submitted Julien Leblanc <\/strong>in April. Before that he was obliterated by Ateba Gautier<\/strong> (see it here<\/a><\/strong>), decisioned by Torrez Finney<\/strong> and crucified by Ryan Loder<\/strong> (see it here<\/a><\/strong>).<\/p>\n

I\u2019m still not sold on Valentin. His lack of wrestling is really going to doom his potential to be a success in UFC. Todorovic is not a wrestler, but he probably knows enough to put him on his back.<\/p>\n

I do worry a little about Todorovic\u2019s chin. I think there\u2019s a chance the long and lean Valentin manages to crack that. And we really shouldn\u2019t get too excited about Todorovic\u2019s win over Medina. Medina is one of the worst fighters signed to UFC in recent years. <\/p>\n

The round total for this one is 1.5. I remember it was like that when Todorovic fought Reese and I took the over, doubting Reese\u2019s ability to take Todorovic out quickly. I feel the same way about this one. I think if Valentin wins, it\u2019s not in the first and that there\u2019s a decent chance Todorovic is able to make this fight go long, to a decision.<\/p>\n
