Longtime Democratic strategist James Carville commented on the DSA’s rise to prominence inside the Democratic Party, including economist Scott Galloway expressing frustration at NYC Mayor Mamdani for putting him on notice publivcly<\/a> that taxing the rich means taxing him, and Hasan Piker’s declaration that there is “zero” chance the party’s 2028 nominee will be a supporter of Israel<\/a>. “Hasan Piker and James Carville are not going to be in the same political party. One of us is going to leave. It might even be me,” Carville said. “If he becomes a voice in the Democratic Party, I’m out. I have no intention of ever being in the same political party with that guy.” “I think an overwhelming majority of Democrats agree with me. But this idea that we’re going to seize the means of production-just go look at the DSA’s platform. You don’t have to look any further than that,” Carville said. “It may be that the two-party system is going to be under tremendous stress here in the coming months.” <\/p>\n

JACQUI HEINRICH: Where should Democrats draw the line on this stuff? JAMES CARVILLE: I’m not sure what Mamdani is doing. But to talk about the larger Democratic Party, post the election in Michigan: I am not going to be in the same party with Hasan Piker. I can tell you that right now. If he becomes a voice in the Democratic Party, I’m out. I have no intention of ever being in the same political party with that guy. I think an overwhelming majority of Democrats agree with me. But this idea that we’re going to seize the means of production-just go look at the DSA’s platform. You don’t have to look any further than that. It may be that the two-party system is going to be under tremendous stress here in the coming months. You see it with Tucker and Marjorie Taylor Greene on the Republican side. You see it going on right now. I can’t sit here and tell you with certainty how it’s going to turn out, but Hasan Piker and James Carville are not going to be in the same political party.
