HOUSE MAJORITY LEADER REP. STEVE SCALISE (R-LA): A lot of elections, people talk about the significance of this election or that election. Two years ago, I think it was one of the most significant elections we’ve ever had because of the true differences at the top. But in this election, you don’t need to make the case. I think people are seeing there has never been a difference in the two parties in my lifetime that I have ever seen. It’s on full display. I mean, you know, it used to be Republican versus Democrat, and in most issues, both parties were pretty similar. You take your top 10, top 20 issues that matter to you personally, and I mean, maybe three or four of them, there’s a little bit of a difference between the two candidates. Right now, the Democrat party has been taken over. I call it the Bolshevik Revolution. I mean, it’s literally been taken over by socialists, Marxists, communists, whatever you want to call them. When they put out a platform that says things like not only defund the police, defund prisons, what does that even mean? Will these people that say that take the prisoners into their house? I mean, it’s insane. We are fighting for safe neighborhoods, safe communities. You know, you look at a city like Detroit, where a lot of work’s going in to try to make it safe. Imagine if you just shut the prisons down. What could possibly go wrong?<\/p><\/blockquote>\n
