Acting AG Todd Blanche Blasts Obama’s “Pretty Incredible” Response To WHCD Dinner: “Literally Just Covering His Eyes”
Acting Attorney General Todd Blanche responds to former President Barack Obama’s statement on the White House Correspondents’ Dinner shooting. In an interview with FOX News host Kayleigh McEnany on “Saturday in America,” Blanche was incredulous that the former president would not say the alleged shooter’s motive was to assassinate President Trump. “Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives behind last night’s shooting at the White House Correspondents Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all us to reject the idea that violence has any place in our democracy. It’s also a sobering reminder of the courage and sacrifice that U.S. Secret Service Agents show every day. I’m grateful to them – and thankful that the agent who was shot is going to be okay,” Obama posted on X.
MCENANY: Yeah, but instead he’s trying to stop you in court. I think actions speak pretty loudly here. Another post I want to ask you about, obviously huge news a week ago today, that horrific third assassination attempt at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner. Cole Allen, you guys are currently going, you’re prosecuting this case in court. But here’s what the former President Obama said. Although we don’t yet have the details about the motives, this was earlier this week, behind last night’s shooting at the White House Correspondents’ Dinner, it’s incumbent upon all to reject the idea of violence. He goes on. The motive seems pretty clear here. There was a whole dossier. Do you have any questions about the motive? BLANCHE: I mean, it’s pretty incredible that a leader, a former leader like President Obama would say that, actually literally just covering his eyes to what we know is happening. I mean, that is so disappointing to say that when we know from just a little bit of evidence that we’ve done, even just what’s charged in the complaint, not the rest of the evidence that we’ve uncovered since then, that we know exactly why President Trump was targeted by — allegedly targeted by this individual.
