Gillian Turner: Vance Essentially Sending The Message That Americans Should Be Thankful Gas Prices Aren’t Higher

FOX News foreign policy correspondent Gillian Turner on Thursday’s “Special Report” likened Vice President Vance’s messaging on Iran to former President Joe Biden telling Americans things aren’t as bad as they seem.

BRET BAIER, HOST: Gillian, thoughts about what you heard from the president today and where this is headed? GILLIAN TURNER, FOX NEWS CORRESPONDENT: Well, it was notable that he told reporters in that briefing that he doesn’t know when gas prices are going to come back down to $ 3 a gallon. He then went on to say that prices could actually be a lot higher than they are right now if Trump administration wasn’t handling things in the Middle East so well at this moment. So essentially sending this message that Americans should be thankful gas prices aren’t higher. BAIER: That’s a tough sell on a bumper sticker ahead of the midterms. TURNER: That’s a tough, and it also occurred to me listening to the vice president today that that’s the same message, failing message that President Biden rolled out on the campaign trail, telling Americans, telling voters that things aren’t as bad as they seem. They’re not as bad as they think they are is something politically that’s not a winning strategy. It’s probably going to backfire.
