FOX NEWS: Health and Human Services Sec. Robert F. Kennedy Jr. joins Kayleigh McEnany for discussion about the MAHA accomplishments, Dr. Anthony Fauci’s diary entries, healthcare spending, chronic disease and the recent measles cases.

KAYLEIGH MCENANY, FOX NEWS: Coming to you from Tampa, Florida, Saturday In America’s Town Hall with HHS Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. resumes.   And let’s take it straight to our audience. We have Luv, he is a colorectal surgeon.   LUV, COLORECTAL SURGEON: Thank you for taking my question. Secretary Kennedy, as a colorectal surgeon, I’m increasingly seeing impact of colorectal cancer in younger and younger patients. We do screening, average risk screening, in patients at 45 or above, but we still lack an effective way of identifying younger adults who may benefit from earlier screening.   What role should HHS play in funding research into risk stratification tools and biomarkers to develop a targeted screening strategy for patients under 45?   ROBERT F. KENNEDY JR., U.S. HEALTH AND HUMAN SERVICES SECRETARY: We are right now — first of all, thank you for your question, and it’s a really important one right now. We’re seeing an explosion in all cancers in young people, and particularly soft tissue cancers. But more than that, most alarming probably is this giant increase in colorectal cancers which were essentially, as you know, unknown in children in previous generations. We’re seeing them a lot now.   We are in the process of developing very, very rigid screening recommendations for young people with colorectal cancers. We’re also looking at causation. It clearly, this is research that should have been done by NH 10 years ago, 20 years ago. It’s clearly related to environmental changes, to some kind of environmental insult, almost certainly from the food, but also it may be linked to pesticides in the food.   Not only ultra-processed food, which is obliterating our metabolic systems, but also pesticides. You’re seeing some of the highest rates in the agricultural states. Like Iowa today has the fastest growing cancer rate in the world, the fastest growing cancer rate in the history of the world. The second highest is Kentucky, and it’s in the agricultural center parts of those states where we’re seeing it.   So there may be a pesticide link. We are studying that now at the National Toxicity Program. We should have studies coming out later this year. And I — they — we’ve been doing it since I came into office. I asked a number of these studies be done that, as I said, should have been done a decade ago. We’re going to try to figure out what’s causing it, at the same time, screen this generation of kids until we can reduce those exposures.   MCENANY: There was a very exciting announcement out of FDA, and it pertained to pancreatic cancer. Last December we had Senator Ben Sasse call attention to this devastating cancer when he said, I was diagnosed with stage four metastasized pancreatic cancer, and I’m going to die. He gained access to a clinical trial, a drug that shrunk his tumor and extended his life.
