Republican strategist and “Ruthless” podcast co-host Josh Holmes said the long-term endgame in Iran relies on economic pressure rather than occupation.

It does not seem, Josh, like the president is ready to go the Witkoff- Kushner route any time soon. JOSH HOLMES, “RUTHLESS” PODCAST CO-HOST: He likes to keep all of his options in abeyance for when you need them. And look, I think there’s always going to be a strategic military component to this region. As long as the IRGC is around this is going to be part of the equation. But I watched that package did you with Larry Kudlow with great interest because I think Scott Bessent has what the endgame looks like in Iran. It’s not going to be Douglas MacArthur marching, the modern day version of that, marching through the streets of Tehran. It is eliminating their ability to be a threat to the region through proxies, eliminating their nuclear capabilities, and their ability to be a menace throughout the world. And I think that these things that we’re starting to do from a sanctions standpoint will be the end.
