Tennis Insider Provides Details on Roger Federer’s Hall of Fame Induction
Federer will be headlining the 2026 class of the International Tennis Hall of Fame. In what is widely regarded as one of the biggest honors in tennis, the Swiss maestro will enter the Hall of Fame in the Player Category.
The three-day ceremony for the 20-time Grand Slam champion’s induction will take place from August 27–29. The event will take place at the historic Horseshoe Court in Newport, Rhode Island.
With just over one month left before the ceremony, tennis host Henley offered insight into how the event will be a must-watch for all tennis fans.
“I am so lucky to be on the ground for that induction weekend. So I know some of the details of some of the things that are going to happen, and when I just tell you, you are not ready. It is going to be one of the most incredible… If you are a tennis nerd or even if you’re not, it’s going to be unbelievable in terms of the history and production and just a meaningful moment. So mark your calendars,” she said on the “Love All” podcast.
Tennis legend Kim Clijsters also paid tribute to Federer and looked forward to the event. The Belgian spoke about how she recently witnessed Federer motivate the next generation of tennis players.
“It was really amazing to see how natural and down-to-earth he is. He has his insecurities when he talks about his years of junior tennis. Everybody always assumes that Roger was always great, but he’s so awesome to listen to. I’m super excited for him,” she said.
In anticipation of the event, Federer also took to the tennis court to practice his skills. He will take part in the Celebrity Pro Classic on Friday, August 28. That will be followed by a live Q&A and a red carpet show, leading into the induction ceremony on Saturday, August 29.
With his induction, Roger Federer will join 272 other Hall of Famers from 28 countries. The list is headlined by Martina Navratilova, Chris Evert, Andre Agassi, Monica Seles, and Pete Sampras. Alongside Federer, trailblazing journalist Mary Carillo will also be inducted into the International Tennis Hall of Fame next month.
